Belanga, Midvalley

we were so hungry and i know i arrived late so we decided to have breakfast in midvalley. we surveyed bombay spice but the price was just ridiculous so we settled for belanga. it is located at the kind of food court between the gardens and midvalley

see? affordable prices (and tastes good too)

i find myself attracted seeing this lampu ayam. nice touch. ouh and the waiters wear baju melayu with tengkolok. hihi

the kitchen

syud's coffee and my teh tarik. i just love the taste of my teh tarik because everything is balanced unlike sometimes when it is too sweet or too milky. and the glass is of standard size (some shops tend to serve drinks for hobbits). btw, syud said the coffee taste was ok-lah!

this is nasi tumpang. so unique

tadaaa...it was made up of nasi himpit. ouh this is nasi tumpang udang

sambal, serunding and rendang.
i didn't eat nasi tumpang at belanga, which costs RM 4++, but according to syud, its simply superb. kindly refer to syud for further explanation.

and so i had to wait for my pulut kuning with kari ayam. while waiting for the food, we spent the time looking around the shop. but sadly, i didn't manage to register what were being displayed because i'm too hungry. sugar in the morning will be the fuel to your brain to think (creative) thoughts and since i haven't had any food, i was then unable to think too clearly.

ok long-winded unneeded explanation.

and there's my pulut and kari ayam. yeah i know i know, why the salad at the sides but whatever, i love the chicken curry because the chicken is really tender. however, the sticky rice is a bit mushy but with curry like that, i can forgive them. this dish costs RM 4.90++.

i would definitely visit this place for breakfast again.

My Guilty Pleasure (In the Cake Category)

you know when there are times that you feel like you need to stab something (other than your precious teddy bear and obviously not yourself), feels like drowning in your own salty tear or feeling that 'you don't have to be alone to be lonely'? yes, we have our own moments.

and during those moments, i go for this

Chocolate Indulgence from Secret Recipe

a closer look on the delicious chocolate indulgence

the chocolate layer is so delicious and creamy, the first time i took a bite of this cake, i nearly swooned. nearly because i was dining with a friend and swooning in front of a friends does not look too good. for an instant, all my problems evaporated into thin air but of course, just for a moment but i swear its enough.

like its name chocolate indulgence, i totally indulge myself into each layer of the cake, feeling myself getting more relaxed with  every single bite.

i happen to like eating. heh

and great news girls, because the cake is so creamy and rich, it is almost impossible to stomach another piece. so, you can be sure that you can only have that only on one occasion. great huh?

available at secret recipe for RM 6.50++.

i'm still looking for other candidates. anyone wants to share with me other great places? possibly in bukit bintang area?

Little Ben, Pavilion

so here we are again, tasting the food in little Ben pavilion. Yes, I know its long overdue but somehow it looked like a lot of people are looking for the review of little ben here for the past few months so here we go!

According to record (well, actually referring to the blog of the person who goes on this eating spree with me), we went there in November. Yes, so last year but still, I really cannot chase away the feeling of being in a cramped box. I felt trapped and claustrophobic being in the place because not only the entrance was tiny, the insides of the shop is not even space. Even when no one is in the place (because we went there for lunch at 11.30), we still had to avoid bumping into chairs and tables.

That people, actually killed my appetite a bit. I don't expect spaces as huge as highway but I really don't want to squeeze myself in either. So,if you are the type of person who cannot bear sitting in a small place, try looking at the bulbs on the ceiling. It might bring you a bit of a comfort (although not guaranteed).

although I must say I do like the combination of red and black a lot

i like this. its not that loud and showy

the smell of lemongrass is strong (and for me, calming) but I didn't eat the fruit. there's too many food inside my stomach already. do not want to risk anything

I had these. actually, i can barely remember what I had but thanks to the photographer, he made it a point to write the names of the menu. thank you!

now we've settled on how the food looks like, we can safely proceed to how the food tastes. well, i kind of like the taste but the rice is a bit hard. but i do like the taste of it all. i just kind of like it, not to the extend that i'll visit this place again. one taste and i had enough.

is this making sense or i am just talking in circles?

what my friend had

ouh i'm really disappointed by this. this is the duck spring rolls. if you think that the picture looks biasa, nothing special, please apply that to the taste of the duck spring rolls too. i was clearly disappointed because this is the first time i tasted this food, i want it to be special but nooooooooo...i was in for a disappointment.

overall review? just so--so. nothing special. try at your own risk

TGIF

ok this is really long overview but we had company lunch in TGIF. since i do not have any idea what to order, i just settled on something called something sandwich. sorry i forgot the name of it but it is served with fries. it looks like this:

the slices of the bread is really, really thick although at first, i don't think there's a problem to finish it, actually there is a problem because it was really huge. two hours and trying to push this down my throat. adoi.

or maybe, the reason of me not being able to push it down my throat altogether was because of this

clam chowder
still, i think the one in fish & co is still the best.

what do i think?
nothing to shout about, really. IMHO, i like chilli's more

celadon, pavilion

fruit punch yang menarik tapi lepas tu macam aneh nak sedut sebab tak sengaja masukkan penyedut minuman terbalik. thi hi hi

udang yang sangat sedap T_T

penat jugakla tadi dok debate bunge diperbuat dari apa. kawan-kawan cakap tembikai. i angguk je.

paham-pahamla kalau dah mula makan. dah tak ingat dunia.

wording bawah dia King Chulalongkorn the Great tapi sebab nak tampal wajah kami, ayat tersebut terpaksa dicrop.

dan kami pun pulang dengan perut yang penuh untuk mencari bantal di rumah. thi hi hi.

berbaloi? ouh ini memang sangat sedap oke. memang tak menyesal la. rasa macam nak treat diri sendiri kat sini masa birthday lepas tu nak cadangkan dekat bos tak payah la pegi chilli's, TGIF apa sume tu. kita datang sini je.

dan terima kasih sangat-sangat cik eme sebab belanja kami. jasa anda sangat saya kenang. saya belanja awak chocolate fondue nanti.

oke sila lap air liur yang meleleh atas kebod plis. ta~

Chicken Cornish

this is what i like to eat when i don't know what to eat and i don't feel like eating fast food. So i head to secret recipe and order chicken cornish.  it comes in spicy and non-spicy at RM 7.50.

so as you can see, it is  actually a fancy curry puff but whatever, i like it and i actually do get full eating this. for me it is perfect for my tea time or dinner. it is simple enough for me and the it felt so good when it is so hot once it enters my mouth.

ok i think i really have to grab food right now because i'm starting to salivate. take care people.

dislaimer: the review is based on my tastebud and is totally personal
